Ed Harris complained initially about his limited part in the new show in Dutton Ranch, the Yellowstone spin-off. He thought the role was meaningless and wanted to leave. Harris told Variety, 'with frustration Get me the f- out of here' as he threw his hands up. He later chose to return for Season 2 to come back for the next season. The show’s boss tweaked the plot and gave his character additional depth. That change prompted Harris opt to stay. Deadline now says he will reprise the role.
