Tadej Pogačar took the victory in Stage 19 on July 24. The Slovenian rider pushed the pace on Alpe d'Huez and ended up far ahead. Only Richard Carapaz drew near. Pogačar's group faced unwell team riders earlier in the stage but he stayed healthy. His lead grew bigger on the last climbs. Two days prior, Carapaz picked up Stage 18 just minutes behind.
