The team of The Rookie has issued an apology for the sharp cliffhanger ending to Season 8. Fans had been left in suspense after the last scene ended mid-action. Creator Alexi Hawley revealed at Comic-Con that Season 9's first episode will be extended above the usual length. Nathan Fillion revealed that filming for Season Nine gets underway on a date in early August.
