Retired UFC athlete and US Green Beret Tim Kennedy was wounded in a firefight in the Democratic Republic of Congo involving forces tied to Erik Prince, according to Reuters and the New York Times. A New Zealand SAS veteran lost his life in the same incident.
The incident has brought to light what reporters describe as a covert military campaign Prince is running in the region. Kennedy is recognised for his career as a professional MMA competitor and his service as a US Army Special Forces soldier.
